Hi everyone,
My name is Shannon Sims, and I'm a 2L starting up the Texas Association of International Law (TAIL) this semester, so I wanted to be sure to let you know about the first (ever!) meeting this Thursday, 10/8, at 3:30 in 2.137.
Anyone even remotely interested in international law and law internationally is welcome to join the organization and the meeting this Thursday. Since this is a new student organization, we'll be sorting out leadership roles at the first meeting. If you are interested in a leadership position in this group, then you will definitely want to be there Thursday.
To clarify, TAIL is intended to be a broad-based student organization dedicated to fostering interest in International law and all aspects of the global practice of law within the UT law community.
TAIL already has a lot of offers for events to host, so I look forward to meeting and discussing with new members these options. I've also set up a website at http://texasinternationallaw.blogspot.com, which I'm hoping in the future can help to assist in informing new students who are interested in International law of their options for International internships, careers, study abroad etc. I've also set up a gmail account for the group, as you see, at texasinternationallaw@gmail.com.
I'm so excited about this group, and I look forward to meeting with everyone who is interested this Thursday! Please encourage your colleagues to come to meeting - tell them I might even bake cookies if they are hard to convince.
Best wishes from a very brand new student organization!
-Shannon
